Body positive photography is more than a trend – it’s a quiet revolution.
It’s the decision to show up exactly as you are. To be seen. To stop waiting until you’re “ready.” And to say yes to celebrating your body, just as it is today.
At Boudoir by Alyce, I believe body positive photography means creating a space where all women – shy, bold, curvy, postpartum, aging, or anywhere in between – feel safe, respected, and beautiful.
I grew up in the ‘90s, when magazines were airbrushed and supermodels were the beauty standard. It took years – and two pregnancies – for me to unlearn those expectations. Aging is an honour. Stretch marks are a map. And confidence? It’s not about perfection. It’s about showing up.
That’s what body positive photography is about. You don’t have to wear lingerie (but you can!). You can show up in a chunky knit sweater, a robe, or that one dress you love but never wear. There’s no rulebook here – just room to be you.
I’ve worked with women at every stage:
– Newly engaged
– Postpartum and figuring it out
– Midlife and reclaiming confidence
– Busy mums who haven’t felt seen in years
And what they all have in common? They’re real. They’re powerful. And they often forget how beautiful they truly are.
Body positive photography isn’t about filters or perfection. It’s about creating a space where real bodies are honoured, not “fixed.”
“As a new mum, I was nervous to be back in front of the camera… but Alyce’s focus on natural beauty made it easier to come exactly as myself. The session felt like pampering from the moment I walked in. Thank you so much for helping me feel beautiful again.”

Part of being body positive means never pressuring anyone to share their images. Some women want to shout it from the rooftops. Others keep their photos just for themselves. Either way, the choice is yours. Always.

You don’t need to change. You just need to show up.
